Economists and experts finalize Work plan 2008 in EFN Expert’s Hearing

Manfred Richter explains economic freedom policy
The German expert Mr. Manfred Richter, member of board of directors of Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit (FNSt) also shared experiences of economic freedom in Germany.

Experts from Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), Alternate Solutions Institute (ASI), Leadership for Environment and Development (Lead), Development Pool, Applied Economics Research Centre Karachi (AERC) and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) had extensive discussions to determine and explore the space for the free market economy in Pakistan and discussed an EFN work plan 2008.

The core idea behind establishing this Economic Freedom Network in Pakistan is to provide equal opportunities and space for the private companies and investors for playing a pivotal role in a free market presenting a perfect completion for a stronger economy. EFN endeavors to finalize a work plan for lobbying and strategize for economic freedom in Pakistan for a stronger and prosperous economy. EFN appeals to the public policy advisors and political decision-makers, and to broaden the debate on the merits of free markets and limited governments, the EFN Pakistan provides a platform for political dialogue, public education and academic exchange. In other words, EFN Pakistan strives to promote economic freedom in order to facilitate human development and economic growth.

Economic freedom experts exchange opinions
The working plan for 2008 was finally decided, so that EFN Pakistan takes off soon with economy related initiatives and activities to second the already positive development in the country in favor of a free market economy and hence in favor of all people in Pakistan.

Another Economic Freedom Index, Pakistani Edition is going to be issued in the first quarter of 2008 by ASI and other think tanks.
