Commercialization of Research & Development – Policy of the Government

The topic of the 7th Key Persons’ Forum organized by Project Small & Medium Enterprise Developers (Project SMED) held on the 18 October 2007, was ‘Commercialization of Research & Development-Policy of the Government.’ The Key Person’s address was delivered by Prof. Tissa Vitharana, Hon. Minister of Science & Technology and Chairman of the All Party Representatives Committee.
The theme contained an important issue that has a direct bearing on the private and public sectors, in the face of globalization. The Minister’s address evoked much enthusiasm among the audience comprised of members of international non governmental organizations, ministries, private sector entrepreneurs, both local and foreign.
A good intellectual and participatory discussion followed the address of the Minister.
